Wang

Lea Wang studies Applied Psychology at New York University, with a previous academic background in Operations Management from Babson College. Originally from Shenzhen, China and Dallas, Texas, she brings a thoughtful cross-cultural perspective to her work and is fluent in both Mandarin and English.

Lea is deeply interested in the ways people think, feel, adapt, and heal. Her interests include trauma and stress resilience, decision-making processes, and the developmental and emotional transitions young adults navigate as they form their identities and relationships. She is especially curious about the inner worlds of individuals — how perceptions, emotions, and past experiences shape the ways people relate to themselves and others.

Her experience includes regularly visiting senior citizens to provide companionship and reduce social isolation, as well as supporting high school students from China as they transition to universities in the United States. In this role, she has helped students navigate cultural adjustment, academic pressure, and the emotional complexities that often accompany significant life transitions. These experiences have strengthened her belief in the importance of genuine human connection, emotional support, and thoughtful guidance.

Lea believes that greater self-awareness, when paired with the right support, can be profoundly transformative — helping individuals move through life with increased clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of agency. She is committed to creating spaces where people feel truly heard, understood, and cared for, and is passionate about building meaningful connections with people from all walks of life.

Outside of her professional and academic interests, Lea enjoys playing goaltender in ice hockey, arranging flowers, and exploring museums.

Lea works under the supervision of the MDRN Talk Clinical Directors.
