A therapist to help you build resilience

The decision to engage in therapy takes courage and finding the right therapist can take time. I view therapy as the first step in exploring our experiences– really trying to understand the dynamics within our relationships whether it is with family, friends, intimate partners, colleagues or school performance.

You may be feeling sad, anxious, lonely and not sure of a way to move forward. Together we can help you understand your feelings better, so that you can gain insight into your fears and frustrations, past emotional wounds, and your hopes and wishes for greater life satisfaction. I work collaboratively with my patients to harness the strengths that I believe each person has to create change, to self-determine their life choices,  to develop effective coping skills, to build resilience and to live a better life.

I am a psychodynamic therapist with years of life experience, professional training and education that lend a compassionate, and practical approach to my work. Grounded in my belief in every person’s need for connection and the need to be seen and heard, I use a relational approach to psychotherapy that begins with our building a trusting, collaborative relationship in a safe, non-judgmental space. I use a variety of interventions depending on your needs. I draw on elements of psychodynamic therapy, psychoanalysis, attachment-based therapy, interpersonal therapy and family systems theory. My work is always grounded in cultural humility, empathy and identity affirming values.
